Job Summary: Amazon is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Engineering Project Manager to lead the capacity, capital planning, and project execution for the continued expansion of our EU fulfillment center network. The role can be based in any Amazon corporate office in a Metropolitan city in Europe/UK, with extensive travel of about 85% of the time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries, including on-site management for the duration of the project execution.
Key Responsibilities:End-to-end ownership of large-scale Robotics deployment projects and delivery, including resources, CAPEX, schedule, and vendor management.Responsibility for one project at a time, working on-site in a construction environment for the duration of the project execution.Complex stakeholder management: work closely with the Real Estate, IT, launch, and Operations teams from project start to end.Lead a project team including internal stakeholders and primarily external third-party contractors of about 120 team members.Create, submit, and track the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered against the agreed KPIs: on time, within budget, and best overall value and quality.Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and leverage global design standardization.Conduct multiple weekly standing meetings with internal teams and vendors/contractors to plan and track deliverables.Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.Deep dive on technical details and lead problem solutions on a need basis.Lead critical path schedule items and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.Assist in engineering capacity management for EU.Assist in providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.Communicate project status, drive and elevate decision-making, and help requests.Ability to understand Operational processes.Minimum Requirements:University Degree, B.S. or Master, in Engineering (or science/technology).Working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.Experience investigating technical details and leading problem resolution.Experience in delivering against KPIs.Experience providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.A plus is speaking other EU languages and specifically the local language of the country where you will be based.Flexibility to travel up to 85%.Fluency in English is required.
