Your LittleBig responsibilities
We are currently seeking for an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative professional as Engineering Manager in Valencia or Porto.
Overview:
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 7 to 12 engineers, including software developers and technical leads. You will play a critical role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality software solutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role demands a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of software development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including software developers and technical leads. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring that they meet scope, timeline, and quality objectives. Coordinate with product management and other stakeholders to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, helping to resolve complex technical challenges and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency, product quality, and time-to-market. Implement Agile or other development frameworks as appropriate.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing feedback to team members. Support their professional development through coaching, training, and career growth opportunities.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product management, UX/UI, and DevOps, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment on project goals and timelines.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that QA processes are integrated into the development lifecycle and that all products meet high standards of quality and reliability before release.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage the engineering budget, including software tools, training, and hiring. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet project goals.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a primary point of contact between the engineering team and other parts of the organization. Regularly update senior management on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Candidate Profile:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing teams of engineers. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including developers and QA engineers.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in software development, with hands-on experience in both backend and frontend technologies. Familiarity with modern development practices, CI/CD, and QA methodologies.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Project Management: Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical and scalable solutions to complex challenges.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage change effectively, particularly in response to evolving business needs and technology trends.
