WHAT IS UTOPIA? Utopia Music is a Fintech platform operating in the Music Industry that exists to ensure, enable, protect, and conserve 'Fair Pay for Every Play' through accurate recognition, acknowledgment, and compensation for Creator Rights by providing collection societies, labels, distributors, publishers, and creators with modern and effective tools. Utopia is a global company that employs over 800 music and tech enthusiasts all over the world. The goal of Utopia is to eliminate the data gap and fix the knowledge gap along the way, helping the Music industry grow significantly.
HOW WE WORK We create products in cross-functional teams composed of Engineering, Product Management, Design, and Data and led by an Engineering Manager. Our teams are naturally working in a distributed manner since we have offices in several cities in the world and they follow the 'you build it, you run it' principle. We own our success and learn from our failures. Each team has its own mission and decides how to best achieve it. You will know where to go, and will decide how to get there within the team.
THE ROLE You will lead one of our engineering teams in Europe enhancing the outcomes, quality of tech, and the people you manage. We believe in the modern approach to build tech products with cross-functional teams including software engineering, product management, data, and design. You will inspire your team to innovate and create revolutionary products that change the music industry for the better, starting with two small teams which you'll grow over time. You will hire other engineers to support the growing organization, working closely with other leaders to keep our engineering culture strong. We believe that the short feedback loop between operations and development is critical across all the engineering teams: 'you build it, you run it'. We champion small and agile teams. You'll be working on Utopia products built on the Utopia big data platform. We work full-stack including the product infrastructure and user experience. We take a holistic approach to product creation from data to robust backend and customer experience.

Relevant years of experience managing software engineering teams as a people manager.3+ years of experience building AI-powered products preferably operated as SaaS.Finesse in managing complex cross-functional software projects.Good knowledge of modern cloud infra and technologies.Good knowledge of MLOps and DataOps.Excellent communication skills, fluent in English.NICE TO HAVES Passionate about user experience and operational excellence, optimist by heart, paranoid by nature.Understanding of relevant regulation, especially GDPR, and its effect on SaaS services.Experience working with distributed teams.
