Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, professional experience within a manufacturing and design environment, and strong problem-solving and math skills.Responsibilities: Act as the single point of contact to resolve tool-related problems related to manufacturingCoordinate with the plant to resolve safety, quality, throughput, or cost issues related to toolingGenerate and implement cost savings ideas to reduce tool and manufacturing costsManage weekly tooling spend against a variable piece cost budgetPerform and document tool trials and adhere to customer tool test proceduresRevise and update tool drawings and documentation as requiredDevelop new systems to recondition and re-use tooling when economically feasibleAttend regularly scheduled operations and team problem-solving meetingsAssist team in resolving machining and tooling-related issues relating to costs, scrap rates, and low production ratesSupport cross-functional teams to achieve overall plant metricsRecommend optimized machining processes and cutting parametersIntroduce new technology and improved tooling designsProvide year over year Cost per Piece reduction plansCoordinate with the preset team on proper tool setup techniquesMaintain PFEP and use PFEP and Top Spend Data to initiate savings projectsComplete required cost savings and tool test documentationReport and document non-conformances, CARs, and continuous improvementsMaintain safety and good housekeeping standards for the siteMake decisions within the limits of general standards or proceduresReport near misses and incidents to the site manager and cooperate with investigationsOther duties as assignedRequirements: 5 years of experience working in production machining, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or experience working in a closely related technical field is preferredPrior experience designing and tooling parts in a manufacturing environmentStrong math and problem-solving skills and ability to read blueprints and schematicsProficiency with computersAble to work with little to no supervision and ability to multitaskStrong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skillsGood written and oral communication skills, computer and system knowledgeBenefits: Paid time off and holiday payMedical, dental, and vision benefits on your 1st day of employment401K with match after one year of employmentEligibility to participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) program after one year of employment#J-18808-Ljbffr
