DESCRIPTION: The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) team is looking for an Energy Projects Manager to own AWS's relationship with power utilities.
If you like to leverage your skill-set to support the development and execution of strategies and innovative solutions that ensures power does not constrain business growth, we'd like to meet you.
Your work in engaging with various stakeholders, including power utilities, in prospecting for and securing the power capacity needed to support AWS's business growth across 2-3 countries within AWS's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) footprint.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities • You will engage with power utilities and other stakeholders to identify power capacity opportunities for new AWS data centres.
• You will secure utility power contracts for new/expanding AWS data centres.
• Support the development and execution of a comprehensive power growth strategy for AWS data centres.
• You will support the delivery of consultation responses on energy policy with Public Policy across the EMEA region.
• You will identify and develop energy infrastructure cost saving opportunities and initiatives.
• You will collaborate on the implementation and management of energy projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
A day in the life • Leverages project management background to engage with both the internal business partners and energy stakeholders across EMEA.
• Addresses and delivers energy policy changes at national or EU level.
• Managing the development and/or construction of energy infrastructure projects.
• Execute strategy in our business, our technical challenges and have a skill-set to drive tactical execution of contracts, energy initiatives and team goals.
• Establishing and growing business and technical relationships • Managing the day-to-day interactions with these partners, to drive out cost and meeting the energy team objectives to support AWS's EMEA infrastructure expansion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Economics or other technical field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent • Proficiency in Spanish and English languages, both written and spoken.
• 5+ years experience in energy industry, involving working with Electricity Utilities • Demonstrated understanding of grid access/connection process • Demonstrated understanding of analytical and commercial skillset to review utility tariffs and grid connection contracts.
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's Degree (MBA/MS).
• Experience designing or constructing HV / MV substations or other energy infrastructure.
• Experience working for Electricity Utilities or Energy Regulators.
• Experience working on Energy Policy.
• Ability to converse in German, French or Italian is advantageous.
• Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services.
