We are looking for a self-driven, motivated Energy Analyst to join our office in Athens or Madrid and work alongside our energy system modelling team on high-standing consulting projects for international organisations, national governments, and the private sector.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform quantitative research to support various activities of the modelling suite with a focus on the power sector and electricity market.Operate, maintain, and further develop the power sector and electricity market model and other simulation tools.Collect, structure, maintain and analyse large datasets with relevance for power sector and electricity markets.Draft reports, short papers or presentations on the power sector based on model results.Skills and BehavioursHold a BSc and/or MSc or PhD degree in engineering, economics, applied mathematics or physics or other relevant disciplines.Demonstrated data management skills, including the ability to use programming tools, preferably GAMS or Python or R for modelling.Experience in the power sector.Have a detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset, collaborative attitude, and willingness to learn.Be proficient in English (verbal and written).DesirableBe an excellent user of MS Office.Proven writing skills gained through (co-) authorship of academic articles, technical and/or policy reports in English is an asset.Working hereRicardo is an exciting and rewarding place to work and you have the opportunity to make a difference.
