Job Description: We are currently looking for an EMEA Carrier Management Leader (Transportation - Hazardous Materials) to join us at our facility in Asturias. Key responsibilities: Responsible for all day-to-day domestic transportation operations across the region including packaged truck (LTL/FTL), small package, and bulk. Ensure compliance to local laws/regulations. Drive a transportation strategy within the region. Partner with Logistics Procurement on carrier selection and strategy implementation. Act as a transportation subject matter expert. Accountable for developing and owning a pipeline of transportation-related optimization savings. Drive policy change or improvement initiatives through data analytics and trends. Responsible for our Logistics Freight Process which is key to ensuring all the invoicing related activities are closely monitored. This role is also the key contact with our external provider of billing (Transporeon). Participate and be an active part in special projects such as: New carrier implementations in our freight audit tool, support during procurement tenders and support vendor invoice delivery from a manual to automated environment. Management of invoicing process inside a Freight Audit system. Define level of carrier management based on selection criteria. Support the financial budget/outlook process including freight accruals. Establish best in class partnerships. Point of contact to the carrier base. Execute review meetings with carrier base. Provide risk-based assessment and define requirements to support RFQs, bids and the carrier portfolio. Define targets for KPIs and the carrier review process. Release carrier/transportation scorecards. Maintain framework for carrier evaluations. Develop action plans for continuous improvement. Provide reporting and visibility including operational and financial metrics and in-transit shipments. Deliver analytics (reports, dashboards, KPIs) with data driven insights. Create and maintain process descriptions and guidelines. Implement best practices and standards. Proactive management and communication of market conditions and associated risks. Drive clear communication and mitigation plans. Drive forecasting process to ensure proper capacity is secured within the market. Participate and suggest improvements to the carrier onboarding model and allow for alternative carrier, mode, and/or lane options. Define and influence global reports and other presentation materials as required. Key requirements: 4-year degree and minimum of 5 years of supply chain, logistics, or operations experience, involving managing transportation operations. 5+ years of management or supervisory experience leading a team. Project management skills and ability to manage project portfolio. Strong knowledge in logistics, supply chain and carrier management. Knowledge about the logistics (transportation) industry. Experience managing hazardous transportation operations and knowledge of DOT regulations. Strong SAP knowledge and experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Robust analytical and organizational skills. Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset. Demonstrates strategic and conceptual thinking. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of the used CRM tool (Salesforce). Demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, network, and build relationships with multiple stakeholders across functions, mediums, and situations. Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Business fluent in English. Knowledge of German is a plus. Training according to ADR/ RID, IMO (IATA is a plus). Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 25%.
