At REMY Robotics, we're building a new cooking framework, combining adaptive robotics to culinary engineering.
Our robotics kitchens use software-defined and adaptive robots, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and mechatronics that can ensure constant quality, adaptability to any recipe, and operational effectiveness across an endless variety of food production scenarios.
Our solution is commercially proven: we operate our own B2C food brands across delivery platforms and serve customers daily and are now starting to partner with different actors of the food industry as a technology provider.
Our ambition is to power commercial kitchens of multiple partners in the food service industry.

Unlike traditional software products, our robots exist in the physical world: this means the scope of our products and projects are wide-ranging, from the highly technical to the physical, such as identifying and implementing appropriate food packaging solutions for our customer-facing hot food products.

About the role: At REMY, we are constantly reimagining what the robotic kitchen of the future should look like and developing its elements, making sure they are designed and built for robots, not humans, from the ground up.
Our robotics kitchens are made up of off-the-shelf robotic arms (for now) and a variety of our own mechatronic smart devices and appliances ranging from end-effectors for our arms to smart cooling, heating, and storage appliances.
We already have relatively mature working versions of most of these devices but there's still a lot of work to be done to scale these up, bring them to mass production, as well as to develop all-new solutions for new features of our kitchens.
As an Electronics HW Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and validating a suite of PCBs for the next generation of our most important smart kitchen appliances, our smart ovens and freezers.
You will be required to become familiar with the electronics and firmware in the current generation of our smart ovens and freezers, understand the functional requirements of the next generation devices, design PCBs to meet those requirements using a scalable electronics HW architecture, and finally build and validate those PCBs in a low volume pre-production batch of units.
Our smart ovens and freezers have a wide range of electronics HW and FW requirements such as: Network connectivity with remote control and monitoring APIs Motion (Precise S-curve motion control of stepper motors) Different forms of heating (inverter microwave, convection, impingement) Refrigeration (control of compressors, valves, and fans) Different forms of sensing (temperature, weight, position) LED strip animations You will work closely with fellow mechatronics engineers as well as with our chefs, operations managers, and other members of the technical team to design, prototype, and produce efficient and effective electronics HW solutions for our robotic kitchens.
The ability to develop and test firmware to go along with new PCBs would be a strong plus.
Qualifications: A desire to work on something truly world-changing A proactive yet humble attitude Strong communication skills, being organized and detail-oriented A strong educational background and substantial professional experience in electronics HW design, FW development, mechatronics engineering, or a related field Substantial experience in PCB design and validation: - Use of eCAD software (Eagle preferred) for schematic design, PCB layout design, 3D modeling, and generation of manufacturing files.
