This role will require domestic travel within Spain and International travel to our sites located in France, Spain, Italy, or Greece as well as the UK as and when required by the projects.What is the Role?As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical expertise within SSE Renewables Electrical Engineering team, working on Onshore Renewable energy projects within SSE's European project portfolio.As an Electrical Engineer, you'll lead and coordinate all electrical engineering deliverables across development and construction projects within the Onshore Europe Renewables business. This will cover the whole project lifecycle and includes onshore Wind electrical system design and operation, HVAC substations, land cable systems, electrical power system studies, wind turbine electrical systems and grid code compliance.Some of your main responsibilities will include:- Front-end electrical engineering design works.- Developing electrical contract documentation including management and preparation of substation, turbine, cable systems and electrical balance of plant contracts and Works Information.- Coordinating project engineering works and ensuring correct technical specifications are prepared and applied to project.- Writing, reviewing and updating technical specifications for electrical balance of plant equipment.- Reviewing external contractor's and consultant's specifications and documentation for the procurement of long lead plant items and contracts to ensure SSE requirements are achieved.- Reviewing and interpreting power systems studies against relevant grid code requirements to ensure all projects are designed and executed demonstrating and proving full compliance.- Attending various Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for the key electrical component's equipment
