EJG459 EU Senior Engineering Project Manager, OPS Eng Technology Innovation EngineeringAmazon is seeking an experienced and business-oriented EU Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of highly complex logistic process automation and storage projects for the continued expansion of our EU fulfillment network.Successful candidates will have Engineering Program and Project Management experience combined with a strong technical problem-solving ability. The role will understand all aspects of an Amazon Fulfillment Center while focusing on its automation technologies (conveyance, sortation, robotics) and storage solutions. This person will be responsible for planning, designing and delivering state-of-the-art mechatronics and packaging machinery solutions to automate current operational processes. Amazon's culture encourages an entrepreneurial approach and expects engineers and managers alike to take a high level of ownership in solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:End-to-end ownership for large-scale engineering projects (planning, design, installation, commissioning and qualification, launch support)Lead the hardware development phase of the new technologies, matching internal and external financial, safety and ergonomic standardsLead critical path items, dive deep on technical details and provide innovative solutions to resolve issuesAssess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teamsPrepare and conduct weekly standing meetings with internal teams and external vendors/contractors to plan and track deliverablesCreate, submit and track the relevant CAPEX documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall valueAssist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business partners for best value and competitionCollaborate closely with various internal teams such as World Wide Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, IT and ProcurementTraveling on average 50% across projects in EuropeBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or related disciplineTechnical leadership and project management experience in designing mechatronics solutions and/or packaging machineryExcellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project and related softwareTraveling on average 50% across projects in EuropePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAbility to lead internal teams and manage vendor relationsStrong knowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutionsProject execution experience in a construction environment (new build) and/or operational environment (buildout)Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalentSix Sigma or Lean certificationComprehensive understanding of operational as well as reliability and maintenance processes including relevant software toolsGerman, French, Polish, Turkish, Arabic are considered preferred qualifications.Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures?
