SUMMARY OF ROLEMaxeon is seeking a Pricing Analyst to support the development of pricing strategies and internal capabilities that respond to the marketplace and support profitable growth in the global solar market.
In joining, you will report to the Global Pricing Director, whom you will partner with to define compelling pricing, margin, and sales strategies in specific product and service markets and in specific geographies.
Early market focus will include solar retail (installer) and commercial businesses in Europe, the United States, and Australia, and products and services will expand over time.
Your role includes defining, monitoring, and performing post-implementation analysis on various pricing strategies, including those related to product discounts versus margin goals, rebates, volume pricing agreements, ship & debit programs, and other strategies.
The scope of your role will be the creation of both standard and bespoke Microsoft Excel models to model various scenarios and outcomes on proposed customer pricing contracts, customer rebate opportunities, product allocation opportunities, and spot transactions, whether through the direct channel or through distribution.
Your role will also include the maintenance and evolution of key performance indicators (KPIs) in pricing and margin management and the development of dashboards using QlikSense.
In addition to your routine modeling and analytical outputs, you will be responsible for delivering on specific, custom analytical requests from Pricing, Sales, and Executive leadership, which may include the use of advanced techniques like regression analysis, conjoint / trade-off analysis, and other statistical analysis to understand market pricing in new ways.
The Pricing Analyst is an experienced business professional capable of developing rigorous and compelling analytical models in support of revenue and margin expansion opportunities from the development stage through to successful deal closure.
The Pricing Analyst is focused on gathering relevant data, confirming data accuracy, articulating assumptions, performing sensitivity analysis on models, and offering opinions and conclusions on model outcomes.
The Pricing Analyst is motivated by making data-driven business decisions and has a desire to impact executive decision-making with his/her analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWhat you will learn and contribute to:
The role includes the creation, maintenance, and implementation of pricing models.
You will ensure the timely delivery of pricing analysis to the Pricing Manager.
Specifically, you will: Build and develop pricing models and related insights in the following areas:Direct customer pricing contracts with appropriate discounts, rebates, revenue growth targets, and gross margin goals.Indirect customer pricing contracts (distribution agreements) with appropriate discounts, rebates, ship & debit programs, revenue growth targets, and gross margin goals.Spot Price Elasticity models for use by the Sales team in booking 'turns' business.Product Allocation models for use in allocating products by margin profile.Freight modeling / Order "adders" modeling for transactions.As requested, conduct detailed bespoke analysis to support strategic pricing initiatives.Present pricing models to Pricing Director, Sales Leaders, and Other Company leaders as required to build consensus around pricing strategies and tactics.Assist with strategic initiatives (like the development of a pricing data warehouse) to facilitate better scaling of data capture, data consumption, and reporting.Develop and own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in assignment geographies, product lines, service lines, and customers.
Partner with resources in the Philippines to update KPIs on an ongoing basis.Synthesize/Collect market data related to market price from the sales team, competitive intelligence team, and other parties for use in models and analysis.Report to the Director, Global Pricing.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSYou have: Strong proficiency in data analysis and modeling skills, including database management skills (including SQL), superior Excel skills (including use of pivot tables and advanced formulas), and the ability to learn new data cleaning tools (like Alteryx).
Ability to maintain libraries of excel models for future use.
