Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona is a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence—a seal that was awarded in 2011.
The institute is devoted to conducting research of excellence in biomedicine and to transferring results to clinical practice, thus improving people's quality of life, while simultaneously promoting the training of outstanding researchers, technology transfer, and public communication of science.
Its 29 laboratories and seven core facilities address basic questions in biology and are orientated to diseases such as cancer, metastasis, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and rare conditions.
IRB Barcelona is an international centre that hosts 500 members and 45 nationalities.

IRB Barcelona is seeking a highly motivated Predoctoral Researcher to join the Structural Bioinformatics and Network Biology Group led by Dr. Patrick Aloy. This position will be cofunded by the "Instituto de Salud Carlos III" and the "Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), una manera de hacer Europa", from the call for precision medicine infrastructure associated with science and technology IMPaCT (Reference: IMP/00019).
DUTIESDevelop projects in collaboration with other team members.Participate and present in group meetings and scientific discussions.Write manuscripts together with other researchers and the PIs.Engage in career development activities, outreach and soft-skill training.EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSMust Have - Required Experience: Previous experience in research environments.Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Physics and a MSc in Bioinformatics.Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
