Who are we looking for?
We are actively looking for a software-defined radio and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engineer to assist into the integration of commercial SDR for first generation of FOSSA SDR payloads.
At FOSSA we develop, manufacture and validate multitude of different RF systems.
From power optimization devices for our IoT Nodes to complex SDR based systems that will be flown into space.
You will be able to participate in the different steps of the development of SDR for the space segment.
Responsibilities: Definition and sizing of new satellite and ground station applications with the focus on SDR technology.
Design digital communication systems using platforms such as software-defined radios (SDRs) and FPGAs.
Perform functional modelling of DSP algorithms and their implementation in RTL (Verilog/VHDL) or high-level languages (C/C++).
Support the development and enhancement of custom space-tailored radio platforms.
Contribute to system architecture and optimization of communication protocols for space and satellite applications.
Profile: Telecommunications degree or similar.
SDR industry experience.
Experience with testing and characterizing electrical components of Software Defined Radios (SDR).
Proven experience in receiver architectures with various modulation schemes (e.g., QPSK, QAM, BPSK) and Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques (e.g., LDPC, Turbo Codes, Reed-Solomon, CC).
Knowledge of additional communications systems concepts (coding, RF propagation, multiplexing, filtering, etc).
Excellent RF, antenna, and link budgets comprehension.
DSP and FPGA programming experience.
Full professional proficiency in English.
Preferably: Educational master level.
Demonstrable interest in the space sector.
Expertise with Software-Defined Radio (SDR) frameworks such as GNU Radio.
Experience with Xilinx Zynq or Xilinx Zynq UltraScale series FPGAs, Analog Devices AD9361, and other common RF chipsets.
Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automating tasks, simulating, or enhancing system testing and analysis.
