The Expansion Markets are one of the key growth drivers of Alexion in the coming years; these markets include not only the so-called Emerging Markets but also some consolidated markets in Asia, Latam, MEA, Eastern Europe, and Russia / Eurasia.
As part of the Alexion Bold Ambition for 2030, we aspire to reach 100 markets with our RD products and grow the number of patients we serve in the existing markets by diversifying the portfolio and increasing penetration.
The Alexion Market Expansion Lead guides and partners with the in-market teams of the Expansion Markets to develop a robust country market entry/access plan in alignment with the GVAP strategy.
In addition to the above, for the markets in his/her scope, the Alexion Market Expansion Lead will:
Support the strategic access capability building by sharing best practices and co-developing innovative approaches to maximize access.Represent the strategic access view as a member of the Market Expansion team to inform decisions for the Alexion portfolio Market expansion in line with longer-term commercial objectives.Work with the Alexion cross-functional team ensuring strategic alignment between Alexion EUCAN & International and GVAP.Explore new opportunities, either extending our portfolio or opening new countries.The Market Expansion Lead will operate in synergy with GVAP colleagues in the same region of his/her countries in scope and prioritize markets in full alignment with GVAP.
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring strategic access alignment between the Astra Zeneca RDBU and Alexion International, EUCAN & GVAP.Providing hands-on experience and strategic guidance in driving an actionable framework for Market Access strategy in local markets in collaboration with GVAP.Exploring opportunities for market expansion and supporting the preparation of business cases.Anticipating key questions that might emerge during the review of the cases and ensuring resolution.Facilitating Access/HEOR materials for the preparation of country submissions.Attending and presenting business cases at regular Alexion governance committee review meetings.Participating in the Markets Expansion Extended Team, GVAP teams meetings, TA Summits, and other relevant forums.Act in the best interest of AZ/Alexion overall; model the company values and hold self accountable for ensuring work meets the highest standards of ethics, compliance, and quality.
You will need to have:
Excellent track record of working in cross-functional teams.In-country and/or above country market access expertise/experience.Broad cultural orientation, with experience of working in an international context.Understanding of the access and policy environment in the main markets/regions.Master's Degree or higher education including a strong scientific background.Fluency in English.
