WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
PagoNxt is a new company wholly owned by Santander that incorporates our most disruptive payments & trade businesses into a single, autonomous company, creating one of the largest private fintech companies in the world. This new company will deliver payment & trade solutions for merchants and consumers with compelling technology to become a leading global payments provider in the medium term.
In order to achieve these goal, PagoNxt is organized in three different business:
- Merchant Solutions, for merchants and acquirers.
- Trade Solutions, for corporates and SMEs.
- Consumer Solutions, digital products and services for individuals.
This role will be part of our PagoNxt Merchant Solutions team and will be responsible for building a global, open merchant payment platform and consolidate Santander as an acquiring world leader.

As a Data Protection Officer for PagoNxt Merchant Services and Getnet Europe (hereinafter the Companies), you will ensure that both companies are compliant with the data protection regulation. Also, you will be part of the Pagonxt's Merchant sub-holdco risk and compliance team and you will oversight the data protection compliance of the rest of the Getnet entities and inform Pagonxt's global DPO.
We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:
- Run the PagoNxt Data Protection Officer (DPO) function for PagoNxt Merchant Services and Getnet Europe, with the responsibility of:
- Monitor compliance with the data protection regulation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Companies' data protection policies, procedures and processes
- in relation to the protection of personal data.
- Inform and advise the Companies about its data protection obligations.
- Provide advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and other risks assessments.
Raise awareness and where applicable training, about data protection obligations.
Maintain the ROPA of the Companies.
- Support the DPOs and privacy experts of the remaining entities within the PagoNxt acquiring business across other jurisdictions (eg Latam, Asia).WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
EXPERIENCE
- + 5 years of experience in data protection and legal compliance (GDPR and other local privacy regulations).
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Law graduate with expert knowledge of data protection law and practices. Relevant skills and expertise include:
- expertise in Spanish and European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
- understanding of the acquiring and payments sector
- understanding of information technologies and data security
- be able to work and communicate collaboratively/cross functionally with multiple teams located in different geographies.
- Data protection certification such as the ones under the AEPD certification scheme, CIPP/E, etc.
- Critical thinking and attention to detail.
Fluency in English and Spanish, written and oral.
