The Verisure Information Security (InfoSec) team is currently seeking a talented, innovative, and passionate Security Architect to work within our Security Architecture & Engineering (SAE) team - supporting our growing operations on a group-wide basis.
The SAE team creates the security roadmap and strategic view for Verisure Group, and defines and standardizes the security controls, tools and their configurations, alongside the security architectures and designs that developers and engineers must follow.
Reporting to the Group Head of Security Architecture & Engineering, this position will be a key member of the InfoSec team with a critical responsibility to ensure that Verisure stays secure and delivers secure IoT devices and alarm services to our customers.
The team mission is highly relevant, as it covers both the thinking and the hands-on needed to create large-scale and long-term impact.
The role can be based in Malmo (Sweden), Madrid (Spain) or Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and works across country borders.
Some travel between locations is expected (up to 15% of the time), although the SAE team is already spread across countries and works predominantly as a virtual team.
Key Responsibilities - Security Architecture: Create, maintain and communicate the security reference architecture framework of global applicability across all businesses and geographies in Verisure.
- Create, evaluate and determine the resilience and suitability of technical designs to reduce relevant cyber threats.
Main focus area will be Identity and Access Management (IAM), but it is expected that the candidate can work on other domains as well (cross-cutting role).
This will give the candidate the opportunity to explore, learn and grow in multiple disciplines within cybersecurity.
- Product Owner: Product owner of IAM tools, including identity governance and management, and privileged access management.
Create a plan for feature release, and maintain the backlog for the tool, prioritising the features in each iteration.
Define and maintain the strategic roadmap for the tool, being able to identify new features that bring value to Verisure, and influence the vendor to adopt our requests as part of their product roadmap/backlog.
Make sure the capability and the tool are well documented in terms of architecture and engineering artefacts.
Communicate and explain the capability and the tool to our stakeholders, including top management, as required.
Be the point of contact with the vendor for product and feature roadmapping.
- Technical Leadership: Be the technical lead of current and future IAM large-scale transformation programs across the whole Verisure.
- Communication & Influencing: cooperate with key stakeholders to influence their decision making.
What you bring To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong technical security professional with a passion for problem-solving alongside a demonstrable hands-on technical track record in security architecture and engineering.
Along with this, you will need to have significant personal drive and an analytical mindset; with the ability to anticipate risks and creatively resolve bottlenecks proactively.
You will be responsible for designing the Security Reference Architecture of Verisure Group, supporting other architecture roles in their activities/projects.
Support Solutions Architects to ensure their systems fulfil all InfoSec requirements, including the Security Reference Architecture.
You will be working in supporting projects at the same time you design and document the Security Reference Architecture, as both activities flow together and support/enrich each other.
You can expect to travel up to 15% of the time within Europe to connect with our R&D and engineering teams.
This supports our ethos of strong stakeholder collaboration and ensures that Security continues to be embedded in our product development, ultimately protecting our customer's homes and families.
Required Experience - 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
At least 3 years of experience as security architect.
- Experience as architect/engineer with Sailpoint and Cyberark products.
- Secure System Design demonstrable experience designing and reviewing system architectures regarding digital identities for customers and employees, including authentication and authorization security models and protocols.
- Design and development of generic security guidelines, ensuring that solutions remain compliant.
- Experience with UML, C4-model or any other convention or tool to document architecture designs.
- Strong communication skills to gather requirements, discuss architectural designs and agree on key decisions with stakeholders.
- Written and Spoken Fluency in English.
Desired Experience - Secure System Design experience designing and reviewing the security of system architectures regarding a broad set of domains, such as: - Distributed systems architecture - Event-driven architecture - APIs and Web architecture - Integration architecture patterns - Microservices - Containers and serverless - Security Protocols - Cryptography - Experience working async in a geo-distributed team with different methods: Kanban, Scrum, etc.
- Experience designing Threat Models.
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK.
- Experience with any major Public Cloud provider and hybrid environments (Cloud + On-prem).
- Experience with IoT; particularly smart home technologies, and the business models behind them.
- An advanced security certification SABSA or CISSP (CCSP and TOGAF Certifications would also be advantageous).
- Software Engineering background and experience.
