INES is looking for an engineer interested in developing his/her career in the field of climate risk impact analysis on infrastructure assets (roads, railways, buildings, bridges, etc.) to join our team. INES will train you to expand your knowledge on topics such as hazard maps development, vulnerability and criticality calculation, adaptation measures, cost-benefit analysis for prioritization and definition of strategies for resilience improvement, implementation of early warning systems, digital twins development, forensic analysis, etc.
INES is a company with 20 years of experience, specialized in the structural engineering field, both in civil works and buildings, and with 15 years of experience in developing climate risk consulting projects applied to civil works assets. We usually work with multilateral organizations such as the World Bank in different areas of the world such as the Caribbean, Central America, or Oceania where hurricanes, tropical storms, and earthquakes are frequent. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participation in the development of risk assessment projects and resilience improvement in infrastructure elements under climate actions.
Development of forensic studies to determine the causes of infrastructure failures resulting from a climate event.
Proposal of early warning systems based on instrumentation to anticipate the negative effects of a climate event.
Development of digital twins focused on having real-time information on the behavior of certain assets.
Development of strategies to improve transportation networks resilience.
Development of hydraulic models to obtain flood exposure maps.
Development of vulnerability studies of infrastructure assets to specific climate actions.
Proposal and evaluation of adaptation measures.
Participation in training courses for our clients.
Participation in congresses, research projects, and elaboration of papers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience from 0 to 5 years.
Management of GIS tools, hydraulic modeling software (HEC-RAS / Infoworks / IBER, etc.) and knowledge of PowerBI will be valued.
Advanced level in Excel and PowerPoint.
Programming knowledge will be an asset.
Language knowledge will be an asset.
