The Director of IT (Technology Business Partner) is responsible for overseeing the entire technology portfolio in the properties of the region.
This position supports and drives multiple projects for in-destination technology such as product innovation, systems implementations, hotel openings and take-overs, compliance and security new regulations, and other corporate initiatives.This role is the main point of contact for regional operations and business development team representing the IT organization and actively participating with hotel owners and other key stakeholders when needed for hotel take-overs, new openings, new markets regulations, budget and forecast processes, and other operational needs.A successful Director of IT, Europe will:Be responsible for hotels' technology solutions and operations across all inclusive collection hotels in the region.Lead regional IT team(s) to provide high quality on-property service level and execute new projects in managed hotels.Establish effective communication with executive team, regionals, hotel owners, and other management leaders for new openings, takeovers, projects, and budget processes.Partner with business and brand product managers to define technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.Participate with business and product managers to refine initiatives, outcomes, and key deliverables.Partner with ALG-wide technology teams such as Data, IT Operations, Security, Engineering, Architecture to design solutions, prepare implementation plans, and execute key corporate projects and initiatives.Proactively serve as a "trusted advisor," and as the primary IT point of contact for Operations teams and hotel managers.Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information top-down to all levels regarding company changes and new projects and initiatives.Share knowledge and best practices around technology risks and opportunities to maintain a competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness in the operation.Partner with leadership and other key stakeholders to look for innovation opportunities, identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.G., return on investment, operational performance, compliance, etc.
).Keep the team focused on strategic initiatives and support any team members' needs to drive success.Be responsible for the delivery and implementation of in-destination solutions as well as awareness and communication in the regional organization.Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business leaders, colleagues, IT departments, contractors, and vendors.Partner with PMO Hospitality team to manage key projects involving in-destination technology.Oversee the portfolio, solutions delivery, and positive impact of technology in the organization.Own and maintain forecast and budget monthly and yearly processes to keep the IT expenses on track and aligned to expectations.Requirements:10+ years of experience with managing IT team(s), project management in corporate companies.Experience with hotel IT processes, requirements, and standards.Strong understanding of business goals, effective communications, and portfolio prioritization.Collaborative, team-building leadership style.
