Our team continues to emerge stronger and stronger as we adjust to the new normal—and that's where you come in!If you're ready to take off with us, keep reading!The roleWe are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to join the Controllership team and lead our core and technical accounting and reporting team and oversee some of our key financial operations.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and leadership, with experience in managing a team of professionals. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating some of TravelPerk's core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic, value add insights to senior leadership.This role will be based from our Barcelona hub and, while we do offer certain flexibility, the responsibilities of the role require you to be in the office several days per week.What you will doManage and oversee the daily operations of the core accounting department (including general ledger, consolidation, month-end reporting and technical accounting) to ultimately ensure timely, complete and accurate financial reporting.Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations through effective financial stewardship.Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and provide insights to senior leadership.Prepare and present financial reports and analyse financial data, providing insights to senior leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Own and constantly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve financial performance.Collaborate with other departments such as legal, strategic finance and tax to ensure cross functional alignment with business objectives and to support decision-making
