As the Director of Finance & Strategy at ALAIKA, you will oversee the strategic management of key areas within the organization, including Finance, Strategy & HR. Your role involves developing and implementing both short-term tactics and long-term strategies, aligning these with the overall company goals, and providing strategic support to the Founders and leadership team. You will oversee financial planning and business case development, ensuring that financial goals align with the organization's strategic priorities.
What you will do: Strategic Planning: Define and implement both short-term tactics and long-term strategies. Establish and scale the OKR process across the company and individual departments. Lead strategic projects and develop a comprehensive long-term strategy framework.Strategic Support to Founders: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEOs, providing strategic insights and guidance in decision-making processes. Collaborate closely with the leadership team to align company strategies with overarching goals.Business Case Planning: Monitor Alaika's financial performance and develop long-term financial plans that align with the organization's strategic priorities. Support ongoing business case planning by preparing actuals for budget, banks, and investors, and provide financial insights and analysis for strategic decision-making.Financial Planning: Develop and oversee the creation of annual and multi-year budgets in line with organizational strategy. Manage revenue projections and participate in weekly sales meetings, ensuring timely reconciliation of revenue. Conduct 6-month planning, including forecasting costs, revenue based on sales forecasts, and hiring needs, while validating cash flow impact versus P&L to ensure accurate financial planning aligned with strategic objectives.Financial Operations: Oversee and coordinate all outsourced accounting, payroll, and ongoing financial tasks. Ensure timely, accurate processing, monthly closings, and compliance with tax regulations, while optimizing tax planning and financial reporting.HR Strategy: Oversee the HR department, managing HR Strategy, Total Rewards, Talent Management, and Training & Development. Ensure effective personnel management, recruitment, and compliance with labor laws, while ensuring the hiring plan and staffing are aligned with the financial forecast.Your profile: Professional Background: 5+ years of experience as Chief of Staff, Director Finance / FP&A in a highly fast-paced and competitive environment (PE, VC-backed company or similar).Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is required, with top of class merits.Strategic & Financial Expertise: Proven ability to guide C-level executives with strategic insights while leading funding rounds and aligning financial planning with company objectives and oversight over German Accounting teams & procedures.Growth Mindset: Ability to transform the usual young company chaos into maturity scaling mode.Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership abilities combined with excellent communication skills, proven in guiding teams, driving collaboration, and leading change management projects.Analytical Problem-Solving: Skilled in analyzing complex data to derive actionable insights and implement effective solutions.Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant software and tools for strategic planning and financial analysis.Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and German, Spanish is a plus.What's in it for you: Our employees are our most precious asset, and we are committed to providing a unique employee experience.
