Location: Hanoi, Vietnam Sector: Banking Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Science to lead our data science team and manage multiple products. This role requires technical expertise and leadership skills to drive innovation, ensure alignment with our business roadmap, and deliver top-tier technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Data Solutions: Evaluate and track the effectiveness of proposed models against business performance. Develop advanced algorithms using machine learning and deep learning tools to deliver analytics solutions, including recommendation engines, predictive models, and more. Drive the application of machine learning and big data techniques across various business units. Manage and review complex data science projects in compliance with internal regulatory requirements. Data Insight: Lead the extraction and interpretation of actionable insights from large data sets. Oversee processes and tools for monitoring model performance and data accuracy. Facilitate discussions to identify data analysis needs and solutions. Collaborate with Data Engineers to improve data analytics software applications. Project Management: Manage multiple data products, addressing conflicts and dynamic business requirements. Lead data science teams to propose solutions, align KPIs, plan resources, and resolve issues. Conduct post-mortem and root cause analysis to continuously improve practices. People Management: Oversee HR planning and execution, including headcount and costs. Attract, onboard, and retain top talent for a high-performing team. Establish and communicate KRAs/KPIs, goals, and expectations. Provide regular feedback and manage team performance. Foster professional and personal development through training, coaching, and mentoring. Motivate and recognize team contributions and promote corporate culture. Requirements Master's or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. 12 years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, and deep learning model development. 4 years of experience in people management. Fluency in English. Proficiency in querying databases and programming languages (Python, Spark, TensorFlow, Scala, SQL, C, C++, Java). Extensive experience in building data and analytics solutions, data mining, and predictive modeling. Proven application of machine learning and AI in tech and finance industries. Ability to provide fact-based insights for senior management. Deep experience in Agile Software Development and mastery of Agile principles, practices, and Scrum methodologies. Experience leading digital transformation projects from planning to implementation.
