ABOUT THE POSITION
With a planned opening in the summer of 2024, the Hotel Candela Marbella is excited to be recruiting for its management team. The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience in a Human Resource Management role and is fluent in Spanish and English. Ideally, the candidate has prior experience in leading a hotel opening or major renovation/conversion and working in the local market.
You will report directly to the property General Manager, with a dotted-line (functional) reporting relationship to the Vice President of the Luxury Human Resources Leader Europe and will be an integral member of the property executive committee. As a member of the Human Resources organization, you contribute a high level of human resource generalist knowledge and expertise for our new property.
You will be accountable for talent acquisition, succession/workforce planning, performance management, and development for property employees, using technology efficiently, and coaching/developing others to help influence and execute business objectives in the most efficient manner. Your versatile tasks include:
You are the first point of contact for the executives you comprehensively supervise in all strategic and operational HR topics.
Especially in the opening phase, you will put together an efficient HR team and implement HR processes and policies to ensure compliance with French employment law.
Recruiting of specialists and executives as well as training and further education.
Together with the hotel's management team, you will support the introduction and implementation of Marriott's corporate culture.
Preparation and reporting of various key figures to the Executive Board, Regional and Divisional Offices.
Ensuring the entire spectrum of personnel management/controlling in cooperation with your HR team.
Continuous further development and implementation of modern HR instruments and concepts, e.g., for personnel controlling, cost control and development.
Occasional use as "Manager on Duty".
This is what we want from you:
At least 5-8 years of experience in human resources with management responsibility.
Enjoyment of teamwork and the passion for being there for people.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with a high level of initiative.
Constructive assertiveness and goal-oriented competence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Spanish and English.
Company-oriented thinking and acting in conjunction with a structured working style.
Secure experience with essential modern personnel instruments, project management, IT systems, and social media.
Extensive knowledge of labour, collective bargaining, tax, and social security law.
Strong sense of responsibility and quality.
