Director, Contracts & Proposals - Evinova Are you ready to challenge the status quo and make a difference? Evinova, a health-tech business within the AstraZeneca group, is looking for a Director, Contracts & Proposals. In this role, you will support our commercial team by leading the legal & IP review of transactional and contractual requirements necessary to successfully partner with our clients. You will also develop strategically targeted proposals that leverage Evinova's unique value proposition. This role provides an outstanding opportunity to be part of a dynamic commercial organization within the recently launched HealthTech business.
Accountabilities:
The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Responsibility and ownership of the production, drafting, negotiation of Evinova suite of legal, IP and commercial agreements.
Leading the coordination of all legal, IP and commercial formalities (including but not limited to CDA/NDA and MSA requests), implementing processes which manage the review and execution in line with guidance received from Evinova's Chief Counsel.
Leading an agile, technology focused approach to drive efficiencies and create value within the Evinova contracting, legal and commercial frameworks.
Drive, support and prepare complex, bespoke client focused proposals, budgets and client grids for new business opportunities and ensure that all required information is provided in the final proposal within given timeframe(s).
Creating robust engagement mechanisms including a professional and flexible approach to working with 3rd parties to maximise outcomes, building on key relationships whilst also developing new partnerships.
Leading the development of legal, IP and commercial risk-management strategies in line with Evinova's Chief Legal Counsel's direction.
Chair kick-off and resource meetings and coordinate the participation of appropriate personnel in the proposal development process to produce timely proposals.
Act as a strategic liaison between the relevant stakeholders and personnel in the commercial, strategy, customer delivery, science and product teams throughout the proposal generation to ensure the proposal and strategy meet the business needs in line with triage priority, escalating to relevant leadership team members, when appropriate.
Support the preparation of costs for proposals by interacting with relevant departments to coordinate costs and assumptions in the presentation of commercially competitive proposals.
Submit final proposal(s) to agreed deadlines to lead commercial contact or designee, as appropriate.
Coordinate and participate in negotiations and discussions with clients as required.
Act as executive oversight in respect to the Co-ordination and preparation of budgets and specifications for contracts for new business awards (where appropriate).
Design and lead the SOW development, with the agreed proposal scope delivered and agreed with each client and with internal stakeholder requirements. This should ensure that all legal, IP and commercial requirements are met with the specific MSA and that operationally Evinova are able to deliver to the committed solution in the timeframes required within an appropriate risk-managed legal and commercial framework.
Lead a drive to consistently clarify and challenge contract specifications, SOWs and other legal and commercial instruments with the relevant Managers, Proposals; Delivery Engagement Manager; and/or Account Manager and/or Leadership Team (where applicable).
Significant experience and expertise in all aspects of contract and commercial law.
Intellectual Property experience from a legal and commercial standpoint.
Significant experience and skills in strategy development, deployment and management.
Significant experience in Business Development, specifically strategy alignment and execution, de-risking of 3rd party transactions and partnering.
Significant experience within clinical trials software leading supporting legal review and negotiation and SOW contract creation, delivery and execution.
Proven track record of managing, designing and leading innovation and de-risking strategies, which include digital solutions, delivering targeted proposals which drive revenue and will position Evinova as a partner of choice.
Ability to come up with creative/bespoke solutions to enable successful outcomes both in relation to risk management and opportunity realization.
Metrics-driven with strong ownership and focus with the ability to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly and persuasively.
Experience in creating complex costing models and applying proposed solutions to an appropriate pricing structure.
Able to drive focus and excellence within the programs they own and have exceptional stakeholder management and partnership skills.
Advanced [post-graduate] degree(s) in legal, business or commercial areas.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 15 years of related expertise.
High level of analytical thinking skills in legal, IP and commercial risk, specifically around the adoption and application of digital health technologies in the Pharma industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate sophisticated proposals effectively in face-to-face client situations.
Track record of collaboration and leading cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Development, and Customer Success, to achieve common goals and deliver on time activities.
Proven ability to lead and manage teams in respect of legal and commercial deliveries priorities for Evinova, alongside the ability and motivation to work in isolation to ensure deal completion and delivery.
