Director, Commercial Analytics, EMEAPosition Summary
This Director position is for the leader of Dexcom's Commercial Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) in EMEA.
As a leader of the group, the individual will be responsible for building Dexcom's capabilities in commercial analytics and insights, including but not limited to building skills, processes, governance, and organizational mindset to develop and deploy advanced analytics and deliver insights to the business.
In order to ensure that the CoE is able to achieve its mandate, the leader will need to build an organization that (i) attracts and scales desired skills, (ii) is capable of accelerating innovation by leveraging the underlying technology and data science techniques and (iii) can develop a culture, mindset, and associated processes for an insight-driven enterprise.
The individual will also be responsible for collaborating with various internal groups, most notably, Commercial, Pricing, Marketing, Product, eCommerce/B2B, Finance, Operations/Logistics, and IT/BI.
Finally, the individual will also be responsible for building a business case for continual investment in analytics and act as a direct channel to senior leadership in EMEA.
The successful individual will be a leader with a strong track record of communicating strategic insights, driving advanced analytics, and building alignment across seniorities and functions.
She/he must effectively align resources with business priorities, manage complex and ambiguous projects, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and develop a team that serves as the trusted advisors and single source of truth for the organization.
Your main responsibilitiesBuild a team that provides excellence across Data Strategy, Business Analytics & Insights, and Applied Analytics.Lead and manage the analytics and insights team to track business performance, solve complex business questions, and shape EMEA commercial strategy by integrating various data sources and providing fact-based insights about customers, competitors, channels, and markets.Build and maintain an ongoing organizational analytics strategy including the use of advanced analytics methodologies; ensure the department implements and utilizes the industry best practices and technology required to provide insights, analysis, and modeling for the company.Oversee the development of competency model, career path, onboarding and training program, and active rotation program for the individuals in the group.Scale and upskill the expertise in the group by attracting new talent to Dexcom and/or implementing strategic sourcing partnership/s.Partner with global commercial data management team to leverage best-in-class relevant cloud planning and analysis platforms along with agile scenario modeling.Work across functions and advise teams and senior leaders on a diverse set of topics, such as key performance indicators (KPI) reporting, market landscape, competitive intelligence, product launch planning, and marketing/promotion effectiveness.Spearhead the cross-company cultural transformation to a data-driven decision-making and insights-based action planning.Your qualifications7+ years of experience in analytics and recent experience in leading analytics groups and projects in MedTech, Life Sciences, healthcare, or Pharma industry.Knowledge of relevant data sources.Strong business judgement and an understanding of what drives business value for life sciences organizations; medical technology and devices experience a strong plus.Outstanding oral/written communication and presentation skills, especially with respect to clearly communicating complex data-driven topics to senior and executive leadership team.Proven track record of cross-functional leadership, leading change management efforts and strong ability to influence across functional lines without formal authority.Demonstrated ability to be an effective change management leader.Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports in an analytical capacity within a complex analytical environment.
