You will support the implementation of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithms in programmable devices (FPGA).What you will be doing?Design digital communication systems using platforms including software defined radios (SDR) and FPGAs.Functional modeling of DSP algorithms and their implementation in RTL (Verilog/VHDL) or high-level languages (C/C++).Support the evolution of our custom, space-adapted radio platforms.Main languages/technologies used:Verilog/SystemVerilogYosys/Xilinx VivadoPythonC/C++GNURadioExamples of existing applications already developed by Alén Space:DVB-S2 transmitter in VerilogADS-B Receiver in VerilogAIS receiver, hybrid between FPGA (VHF channel) and CPU (GNURadio/C++)Proprietary M2M modem implemented in CWhat do we need in our teamExperience with Matlab/Octave, C/C++ and/or Python for algorithm development, modeling (floating and fixed point), and link-level simulation.In-depth understanding of receiver synchronization algorithms (such as synchronization recovery, phase recovery, automatic gain control, etc.
).Experience with signal detection and parameter estimation algorithms.Experience with channel encoding and decoding algorithms (Reed Solomon, BCH, LDPC, convolutional codes, turbo codes, etc.
).Good oral and written communication skills in English.Valuable knowledge:Experience with real-time SW implementation of DSP algorithms (C/C++).Experience with implementing DSP algorithms on FPGAs (VHDL/Verilog).Experience with High Level Synthesis tools (HDL encoder, Vivado HLS, etc.
