Position: Structure, Loads and Performance Designated Airworthiness Engineer
We are looking to recruit a Structure, Loads and Performance Designated Airworthiness Engineer in Getafe, to join the Airbus Defence and Space Technical Certification team. This team provides certification expertise across all Airbus Defence and Space aircraft programmes and represents Airbus DS in rulemaking & international industrial standardization working groups.
Mission: The main mission of the Designated Airworthiness Engineer is to manage the certification technical activities with Aviation Authorities' specialists/experts for (supplemental) Type Certification, Changes to (S)TC, and rulemaking & standardisation tasks.
Functions and Tasks: Lead the certification, qualification and Continued Airworthiness activities related to technical disciplines for Military Air systems programmes.
Contribute to the generation and approval of Airworthiness Limitation Sections (ALS) for the different Airbus Defence & Space Products, and exercise the approval of the relevant means of compliance documentation.
Coordinate and perform the airworthiness approval of Individual and Generic Repairs, exercising DOA/MDOA privileges (when available) as delegated by the Chief of the Office of Airworthiness.
Support the timely achievement approval of ALS, ICAs, Individual and Generic Repairs through identification of technical issues and associated risk management plan, identification of regulation and interpretation issues in coordination with the design office, including relevant CVEs, Chief Engineer and Services Organisation.
Provide airworthiness approvals and exercise DOA/MDOA privileges for the scope of assigned responsibility as delegated by the Chief of the Office of Airworthiness.
Support the timely achievement of certification & qualification milestones through identification of Major program technical issues and associated risk management plan, identification of regulation and interpretation issues and identification of Safety and Certification Compliance Issues.
Support the necessary activities for the investigation of incidents and accidents for those aspects regarding technical certification knowledge.
Provide expertise in certification to the design organization, or special projects.
Contribute to technical certification derisking in Airbus DS Research and Technology (R&T) / Research and Development (R&D) projects related to the Airworthiness Technical.
Gather and disseminate Technical Certification regulatory knowledge and expertise within Airbus DS, particularly for CVE/DAE community, to maintain state of art.
Others: Be part of the trans-functional and trans-national projects and teams.
Experience Required: More than 5 years' experience in Aircraft multi-discipline certification (Structure, Airworthiness Limitation section, Loads, Aircraft Performance, Instruction for Continued Airworthiness etc.) design and certification. Knowledge in structural related disciplines will be a plus.
