Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead in Spain, the Developer is responsible for building and delivering high-quality applications and/or systems and services to the identified architecture that exceed customer or business stakeholder expectations. The Developer will be a subject matter expert for technical solutions and business processes in their area of responsibility. The Developer will also lead selected projects or activities, as required, and will collaborate with other disciplines and teams within and outside of the Product Business Unit to ensure consistency, quality, and successful delivery.

Accountabilities:
Lead assigned project tasks and activities. Analyse business processes and identify opportunities to improve and align with strategic direction. Undertake research and ensure adherence to best practice guidelines. Analyse, define, document and/or review technical requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems and/or services, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs. Participate fully in all phases of the project lifecycle including technical analysis, detailed design, coding/configuration, and delivery, as relevant. Focus on sound development concepts and patterns such as object/service-oriented architecture, refactoring, and separation of concerns. Develop, deliver, maintain, and implement high-quality technical solutions which may require configuration and/or maintenance of third-party applications and/or the timely provision of accurate data and/or reports. Produce relevant documentation to describe logic, coding/configuration, testing, and changes where applicable. Ensure successful delivery through proactive quality review and stakeholder engagement to derive tangible action where required. Ensure all development is completed to the required quality standards within agreed timelines. Provide accurate, detailed, and timely estimates and track activities against the plan; where required, review team member's estimates and/or code. Seek out and act upon feedback received and provide quality feedback to other team members to aid their personal development. Contribute to maintenance/enhancement roadmap for all the key services for the relevant capability. Contribute to applications/system/service improvement roadmap based on feedback (e.g., post-project implementation) with an overall objective of providing an exceptional customer experience. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of development processes and proactively transfer knowledge amongst team members. Establish and help maintain a high-quality knowledgebase of key applications and/or systems incorporating data and/or reporting where applicable. Actively contribute to retrospectives/debriefs in areas of responsibility to develop the teams' abilities. Where required, assist in educating others (within and outside of IT) regarding the impacts of planned deliveries and/or in the use of relevant tools. Provide 3rd tier support and/or expertise for the area of responsibility (where appropriate). Keep up to date with relevant technology areas and encourage others to do likewise.
Skills, know-how, experience:
Highly proficient in C# and Angular. Experience with Microsoft Azure. Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform and YAML. Ability to interpret and/or gather user requirements and translate these into technical specifications and/or code. High numerical reasoning and logic ability with strong problem-solving skills. Extensive knowledge of the principles of database design including modelling logical and physical data schemas where appropriate. Proficient with one or more relevant programming languages, frameworks and databases. Excellent at troubleshooting in complex software issues, including those in unfamiliar code. Good understanding in business processes. Be an active and enthusiastic team player. Be able to take responsibility for planning and delivering team activities. Be willing to adapt to, and lead initiatives that contribute to significant changes in either technology or environment. Be interested in self-development including the maintenance of personal technical competence in all relevant areas. Be a role model IT professional, demonstrating excellence in a range of general software engineering practices. Effective communicator and influencer to technical and non-technical audiences with excellent relationship management skills. Fluently speaking and writing in both English and Spanish.
Experience with appropriate technologies:
Significant knowledge and development experience with appropriate technologies in the area of responsibility. Significant experience with multi-tiered application design and major relational databases, particularly Microsoft/Azure SQL. Significant experience of unit and integration testing techniques. Good working knowledge of software development lifecycles and development methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Agile. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform and services. Good working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Terraform and YAML.
Nice to have:
Relevant Microsoft Certifications. Degree holder (desirable) and/or relevant professional qualification and/or relevant work experience in related discipline that demonstrates a proven aptitude for software development. Experience with LLMs, with an understanding of AI.
