We're currently looking for a Design Systems Engineer, to join one of our biggest teams inside a multinational company, playing a key role in designing digital experiences that help our direct customers get informed about our vast product portfolio.
-What will your day to day be like?- You will:
Enhance and evolve the design systems by identifying gaps, setting a long-term vision, and securing investments to ensure effectiveness over time. Collaborate with product teams to develop and refine reusable UI components and patterns for E-commerce libraries. Lead the migration of existing component libraries into new systems while ensuring minimal disruption for development teams. Conduct experiments with cross-functional partners to measure success and track progress of design system initiatives. Guide product teams in adopting the right components and patterns for various use cases, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards. Own the design system documentation, ensuring accuracy, discoverability, and ease of use for both designers and developers. Create reusable components that enhance user experiences, align with brand vision, and promote consistency across B2B and B2C teams. Maintain and update design libraries and guidelines to ensure a cohesive visual language. Leverage Figma's advanced features (e.g., auto layout, variants) to create scalable, flexible design systems that support theming and customization. Partner closely with engineers, ensuring seamless design-to-development handoff with a focus on clean, well-structured code. Stay up to date on design system trends, tools, and technologies to keep the system innovative and cutting-edge. Ensure compliance with accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1, ARIA) and best practices in every design. Utilize Jira or similar tools to track design system tasks, manage requests, and maintain alignment between design and development teams. -What are we looking for?- 7+ years of experience in design systems, UI/UX design, and front-end development. Expertise in HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript (TypeScript experience is a plus). Experience with front-end frameworks like React.js, Vue.js, or Angular, and hands-on work with component libraries. Mastery of Figma, including creating advanced components, variants, and leveraging auto layout for scalable systems. Strong understanding of accessibility standards and best practices. Experience in design tokens and theming, enabling flexibility and consistency across products. Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools for task tracking and team coordination. You will have worked in the eCommerce sector with FMCG experience. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager/owner mentality. Initiative, having the confidence to make decisions and act on them. Proven ability to coach junior designers and collaborate with engineering teams effectively.
