At LCI Barcelona, reporting to the Student Services Coordinator, the candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the LCI Design Lab.
This includes supporting students, faculty, and school projects and initiatives by providing training on workshop and machine usage, as well as guidance for project development.
You will be a key member of the Student Services team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Daily management of the workshop: opening, closing, reservations, and maintenance of equipment and tools (3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, etc.).
Ensuring safety and training students and faculty in the proper use of machines.
Coordinating schedules and tasks of collaborators and interns.
Implementing safety protocols in case of accidents.
Managing inventories, material storage, and waste, including recycling.
Supporting the fabrication and production of elements for school projects and/or initiatives, both internally and externally.
Liaising with suppliers for equipment maintenance and replenishment.
Providing training and technical advice on new technologies and equipment for the workshop.
REQUIREMENTS Experience in digital manufacturing and graphic arts, with specific knowledge of 3D printing (operation, usage, and maintenance), laser cutting, and CNC milling.
Additional experience in digital printing (calibration, ink types, and specialized media management), as well as in using cutting plotters, sublimation machines, and screen printing (screen handling, emulsions, and inks), is required.
Teaching experience in digital manufacturing and/or graphic arts is an advantage.
Native or bilingual proficiency in Catalan and Spanish, with advanced English (C1).
Strong organizational skills, specialized technical training abilities, effective communication skills, problem-solving capacity, teamwork skills, and leadership ability.
