SUMMARY: Qorvo is seeking an EDA Applications Engineer responsible for defining, developing and standardizing design flows for RF module products. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing circuit design and simulations flows, documenting the flow, and providing training to the design community. The tasks include developing innovative RF module simulations using circuit and EM simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, and Cadence. The candidate will support circuit designs using semiconductor processes such as SOI, CMOS, and III-V technologies, including module design. Tasks also include collaborating with modeling teams, EDA tool vendors and evaluating EDA tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and improve circuit design flows and reporting results of RF ModulesDevelop, document, and communicate simulation standards required for electrical verificationWork with a team of Design Applications engineers tasked with supporting internal and external design toolsAssist Qorvo designers with creating RF Module simulations using Qorvo best practicesDevelop and validate best practices for simulation of RF Modules including PA's, SOI switches and LNAsUtilize high power computing infrastructure to develop circuit simulation methodsDetermine and benchmark new EDA tools and platforms while identifying gaps and areas needing improvementGuide design flow automation and customized design tools to improve productivityCreate documentation and provide simulation flow training to design engineersQUALIFICATIONS: MSEE or BSEE with 10+ years of experience with analog or RF circuits. Recent college graduates will be considered with relevant internship experience with analog or RF circuits.
Familiarity with high performance RFIC, MMIC and module design flowsProficiency with major electronic design automation (EDA) software platforms (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, Cadence/AWR Microwave Office, Ansys HFSS)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAble to work and communicate effectively in a diverse, cross-functional engineering climateLeadership skills in a multidisciplinary team environmentPreferred experience: Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS simulation experienceScripting experience with ADS, AWR, Linux, Unix, Perl, or Python programmingProduct Management experience, including defining requirements and driving adoptionMAKE A DIFFERENCE AT QORVO
