As the **Deployment Strategy Manager (Europe)** for Ample, you will be involved in supporting the European deployment of EV battery swapping stations in Europe, ensuring a smooth and rapid deployment process for all Ample teams.
**Responsibilities**:
- Establish relationships with commercial partners to secure locations for the deployment of battery swapping stations. Initial focus on Madrid, Spain growing to additional EU markets.[3]
- Support contract negotiations, including working with internal / external legal teams to develop agreements.
- Manage relationships with brokers, developers, property owners and managers to secure sites for swapping stations, as well as property owner needs, post installation.
- Support permitting process, including research on permit requirements, establishing relationships with permitting staff and submitting permits to local agencies.
- Identify and manage relationships with local electric contractors & engineers to support deployment of swapping stations, including development of permitting materials (e.g., site plans, electrical plans, etc.) and connection of battery swapping stations to site electrical equipment and local distribution utility (if applicable).
- Coordinate with the internal Deployment Team to support logistics and installation of battery swapping stations.
- Flag and escalate potential roadblocks or problem areas to leadership and drive resolution
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of related professional experience, including public policy, transportation planning, business development and/or project management.
- Ability to work in a self-directed and collaborative manner across teams, including with clients and other external stakeholders
- Experience navigating bureaucracy and interacting with various stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to consistently & positively contribute in a fast-paced, changing work environment with the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage time efficiently
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Intellectually curious; desire and ability to learn new content / concepts; able to think creatively
- Ability to travel as required, including internationally
