.Tasks performed regularly which form the essential characteristics of the position:Collaborate with commercial, marketing, customer service, finance, procurement, and supply chain teams to understand demand drivers in our customers.Evaluate and incorporate multiple data sources and analytical tools, including customer insight, historical sales data, strategic plans, patient forecasts, and sales data.Support and challenge sales teams in translating pipeline into forecasted customer wins and losses, help identify opportunities to improve commercial plans, and develop processes to reduce workload around demand forecasting for sales teams.Proactively develop alternative plans/options when necessary to minimize the negative impact of supply issues.Generate demand forecasts, meeting agreed requirements and operating guidelines for these processes.Ensure the assumptions behind the forecast are understood and well-documented, and timely communications of the forecast and changes to the forecast on an ongoing basis to stakeholders in commercial, finance, and supply chain.Develop scenarios for alternative courses of action for decision-making purposes, in support of strategic objectives and to challenge business plans.Facilitate the monthly Demand Review meetings (including agreeing on the agenda and key decisions, driving actions resulting) and play a key role in driving alignment between demand and supply, and strategic and financial objectives.Support the Portfolio Review meetings that determine the current and future product mix with relevant inputs.Closely work with the Supply Chain Manager by focusing on giving them the right input to deliver the needed levels of service and inventory.Improve forecast quality over time by reviewing outcomes against results, testing assumptions and reliability of different data sources, improving data quality, and developing the accuracy of statistical models.Proactively identify opportunities for demand planning process improvement and lead a culture of continuous improvement.Continuously evolve demand planning approach to meet the needs of the business and adopt best practices both internally and externally.Be the point of contact for all issues and questions relating to demand.Personal competencies:Forecasting/Demand Planning in a commercial environment.Working cross-functionally and independently.Project management.Stakeholder management.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.Understanding of statistics/statistical-based demand planning.Self-directive, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement.Ability to bring people together around a common objective, collaboratively.Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.Able to synthesize complex data and viewpoints into clear insight.Able to formulate and facilitate decisions with supporting analysis effectively.Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges
