Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is looking to build an origination force in the European branches to broader our presence in the private debt ecosystem and foster the cross-origination of GDF (Global Debt Finance) transactions levered on our consolidated product capabilities in the London and Madrid hubs.
This job description will refer to a Vice President role in our Paris and Milan branches.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING The sales & origination team of Global Debt Finance (GDF) in Europe will primarily build product relationships with local clients to originate transactions in all our debt financing products, including but not limited to, Project Finance, Fund Finance, Syndicated loans, DCM, Debt Advisory and Securitisation.
The team will focus on providing financing solutions based both on existing and new GDF products.
- Acting as a sales force for all GDF products in coordination with the products execution and origination professionals: Looking for opportunities with Santander clients, leveraging as much as possible our presence in the country while cultivating client relationships, promoting debt products, and collaborating with the broader team to meet targets Connecting with the local market for private debt in order to be informed about local business and economic trends and to tailor our product offerings effectively Acting as a partner of the GDF solutions and innovation team with business idea-generation: Gathering with feedback from clients and investors to allow the generation of new ideas Screening client needs with new solutions to turn them into potential transactions WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships based on mutual trust to optimize sales opportunities with new and existing clients Ability to build solid relationships with internal stakeholders by fostering teamwork Technically skilled at and/or aptitude for assessing customer/client needs, providing applicable solutions/recommendations Ability to service and transition to appropriate business partners for execution Ability to display a credible, trustworthy, and professional image at all times LANGUAGES: Fluent in English and French; any other language are optional and a plus EXPERIENCE Experience in Investment Banking or Markets in credit-related products or in product structuring Experience selling products and/or services in an incentive-based environment Experience in leading/coordinating projects and teams internationally (for ED/MD) WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY *Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) * is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customized services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.
