MISSIONProvide technical support and cooperation with the M&A teams for the analysis of business opportunities and initiatives worldwide, related to wind farm, PV plant, and BESS projects. Compile, process, and analyze the technical information needed for the project assessment to ensure the application of uniform criteria when considering different investment alternatives enabling the best selection of projects.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIESPROJECT DESIGN AND TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT: Based in Madrid, define and execute technical due diligence assessments for projects at various stages of development and operation. Collaborate with the transversal engineering team to support M&A and Origination teams globally in analyzing opportunities for PV, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Manage the initial engineering and design phase of projects in all regions where EDPR operates, ensuring transversal coordination across geographies and technologies.PROJECT PRE-DESIGN: Identify the technical upsides and levers that optimize the project, mitigating identified technical risks, reducing CAPEX and/or increasing revenues. Execute the needed pre-designs of the civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructures of the power plant to implement each of the levers.CAPEX ESTIMATION: Prepare an accurate and optimum CAPEX estimation of the potential project or investment opportunity.RISK ASSESSMENT: Evaluate the technical risk of the project, identifying all the factors that could affect the development, design, construction, and commissioning of the future power plant and assessing its probability and potential consequences.PROJECT PLANNING ASSESSMENT: Assess the project master plan from the Vendor, considering the inputs related to permitting from the Business Development area, and develop the own schedule for the engineering, procurement, and construction phases.CONTRACTS ASSESSMENT: Support the Legal, M&A, and Business Development teams along the preparation of the Supplemental Purchase Agreements and Development Service Agreements.TRANSVERSAL SUPPORT COORDINATION: Ensure the coordination of service provision from the Local E&C team and the different Technology areas, including Civil & Mechanical, Electrical & Control, PV Technology, and BESS Technology.REPORTING: Produce the project's preliminary principal finding reports and the final Technical Due Diligence report including the technical assessment.COORDINATION OF PROJECT TRANSFER: Lead the transfer of the acquired projects to the Local E&C Team, ensuring the delivery of the full package of the VDR technical information.STANDARDIZATION: Follow the application of the common standards in the projects, supervising its adaptation to applicable local regulation.COMPANY POLICY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Understand and apply policies to prevent occupational hazards, environment, and quality to ensure implementation and compliance on tasks under their responsibility.EDPR INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION: Represent EDPR to agencies and institutions, public and private, in matters relating to its jurisdiction.REQUIRED PROFILEACADEMIC LEVEL: Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution; a postgraduate will be valued.REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 3-6 years combined of technical/engineering and construction management experience in the renewables energy industry.SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: Specific knowledge of Solar PV and Wind design practices and BOP-BOS engineering; knowledge of contracting Engineering Services and EPC's regarding renewable energy projects; knowledge of renewable energy infrastructures costs; proficient knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite; high proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerBI required.LANGUAGES: Spanish; others are a plus.BEHAVIORAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a multi-national team; strong technical, analytical, quantitative, strategic and management skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work productively with limited supervision; strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task; strong interest in renewable energy and utility business; business acumen and demonstrated strong project management skills.Ability and willingness to travel.
