The role Database Administrator (SQL Server/Azure SQL) emphasizes the dual facets of database management: development and operations. Beyond installation and configuration, you will be instrumental in troubleshooting, ensuring high availability, enhancing security, and optimizing performance.Candidates with a high capacity to learn and adapt may be considered even if some specific skills are currently lacking.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.Enhance database performance by developing, testing, fine-tuning, and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.Implement and monitor disk optimization strategies to ensure efficient storage and database performance.Design and manage disaster recovery strategies, backups, restoration, and ensure high database availability.Hanle SQL replication, including setup and maintenance.Implement and monitor database, OS, and network security measures.Perform server maintenance, including updates and performance monitoring.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database efficiency and reliability.Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend relevant implementations.Required Qualifications:Hands-on experience as both a development and operations DBA.Experience with SQL Server's Columnstore Indexes and optimization of large datasets.Expertise in OLAP cube design, deployment, optimization, and familiarity with multidimensional database structures like star and snowflake schemas.Proficiency in SSAS Tabular models, DAX querying, and efficient modeling best practices.Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, relational data model design, stored procedures, triggers, SQL Server Service Brokers, and replication.Deep knowledge of ETL processes and familiarity with leading tools.Familiarity with server hardware, disk storage technologies, and data structures used by SQL Server.Strong debugging and problem-solving expertise.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Desirable Qualifications:Analytical data modeling knowledge.Experience in C# and .Net development skills.Proficiency in PowerBI, including data visualization, report creation, DAX functions, and integration with various data sources.Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization techniques to transform raw data into meaningful business insights.Proficiency in data analysis techniques and methodologies.Familiarity with AWS database services and best practices for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing databases in the AWS cloud environment.If this opportunity is a potentially good match for you, then we look forward to reviewing your application.
