What will your role look like? As a Data Specialist Intern, you will support our AI auditing team performing sociotechnical analysis, reviewing and analyzing data, coding and contributing to the creation of audit reports, publications, and other audit-related content.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and motivated team and help shape a more ethical future in technology.

Your key responsibilities: Participate in building the scientific underpinnings of our groundbreaking tools to measure, monitor, and mitigate bias in AI. Participate in the implementation of quantitative methods, including data collection, coding, developing metrics, and analysis of results. Support our audits using both statistical tools and qualitative analysis methods to perform sociotechnical analysis which are applicable in real life. Collaborate with team members to develop the existing products and create new ones based on the needs of the clients and market demand. Managing project documentation and communicating with stakeholders and clients. Stay updated on the latest developments in AI auditing and research to inform project activities. Requirements Must-have skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Completed or in-progress degree in a relevant field such as social sciences (with a focus on quantitative methods), statistics, data science, computer science, or related disciplines. Experience in R or similar coding tools (Python). Solid understanding of statistics and experience with statistical analysis software. Experience or interest in conducting research related to AI/ML, social media recommender systems, ethical technology, or algorithmic auditing. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. Enthusiasm for social change and a commitment to ethical considerations in technology. Experience working in remote and cloud-based environments. Experience in working in environments such as Agile, Scrum or similar methodologies. A lifelong learning attitude.
