Responsibilities/TasksThe Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing the interface and integration of internal and external data sources within the data warehouse (DWH) environment. The DE is expected to work with IT team members to help address DWH development and report backlog, as well as troubleshoot data quality issues. The DE primarily supports supply chain operations, performance management and analytics, 4PL services, and the finance & accounting teams.
The Data Engineer is also responsible for requirements clarification, supporting user acceptance testing, and release management in collaboration with IT and other units. It is expected that the DE will manage the queue of issues requiring DWH development support dynamically, including backlog requests, new requests, and bug/service tickets to address data issues or report bugs.
Specific responsibilities: Work with company IT team members to address the data warehouse (DWH) development and report backlog.Design and develop interfaces between the data warehouse (DWH) and internal/external data sources.Support all data and report requests from company departments, including Supply Chain Operations, Performance Management and Analytics, 4PL Services, and the Finance & Accounting teams.Clarify requirements, support user acceptance testing, and manage releases in collaboration with IT and other units.Support Product Owners to ensure that key reports and DWH designs are updated to reflect the latest state of business processes.Assist the DE Lead in providing direction and support for continuous improvement of the DWH architecture, performance, and documentation while upholding quality standards in coordination with the Quality and Risk Division.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Math, or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.4+ years' experience with MS SQL Server and SSIS development.Strong skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL.Proficient in data warehousing, data marts, and OLAP.Experience with an Agile/Kanban way of working.Experience in report development with Power BI and SSRS.Familiarity with DataVault.Experience with Azure Cloud Databases.Knowledge of BIML is an advantage.Experience with Jira is an advantage.Experience with international supply chains is an advantage.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Experience managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in multi-cultural environments and diverse locations internationally.*Applicants must have valid Dutch working visa (no sponsorship, HSM or Orientation Year visa not applicable)*
