The Role
This role is an ideal position for someone looking to drive operational excellence and enable the next generation of portfolio analytics at Morningstar. The EMEA Managed Investment Data Operations team is seeking a Data Content Researcher to manage a variety of initiatives related to portfolio data for pooled investments, especially regarding responses to regulatory changes such as Solvency II, Basel III, and ESG reporting. You will collaborate closely with the global content and operations teams, using your finance and business acumen to ensure the seamless execution of new initiatives. You will leverage your knowledge of relationship management and continuous improvement to design processes for client support and operations teams. This position will be located in Madrid.
Job Responsibilities Collaborate with a global team of subject matter experts, operational leaders, product managers, and technologists to promote high standards for operational excellence in new data initiatives. Create continuously improving processes for client support and operations teams and guide adoption via training and close support. Work closely with product managers and content experts to create and monitor KPIs related to strategic projects. Triage difficult issues with the content and support teams and create requirements for product managers to implement software tools that enable solutions at scale. Cultivate a deep knowledge of continuous improvement, EMEA regulations, and client relationships to enable best-in-class data support for flagship EMEA business initiatives. Act as an expert regarding investment data points and calculations, answering questions and escalations from other team members. Demonstrate a high sense of ownership of the data responsibilities to be responsive and provide timely updates, follow-up, expedition, and resolution. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. At least 3 years of experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated mastery of basic financial concepts with an interest to develop a deeper knowledge of finance, regulations, and industry trends as related to portfolio data for pooled investments. Detail-oriented self-starter with proven ability to handle multiple projects in a flexible and fast-paced environment. Knack for translating business requirements to clear operational processes with measurable KPIs. Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence peers and stakeholders. Desire to understand the technology and its intersection with business problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is a must. Additional European languages will be valued. Solid SQL skills and Python experience are preferred. Nice to have Experience within the fund industry. CFA charter holder.
