DESCRIPTION
The Data Analyst improves VAT Compliance reporting and data accuracy for Global Tax Services to reflect legislative and business change.
In this role, you will work closely with indirect tax compliance customers and internal tech partners to support complex data solutions underpinning Amazon's indirect tax reporting in EMEA.
As a Data Analyst, you will be expected to have solid data management experience, strong data querying skills, and understanding of tax and accounting principles to support indirect tax compliance teams in EMEA.
Key job responsibilities Investigating and resolving data quality issuesDefining technical requirements based on data analysisPerforming user testing on new system buildsUsing Excel, SQL, Alteryx for reporting, auditing and analysisBuilding relationships with key tech partners and business teamsIdentifying process gaps and improvementsEscalating technical/operational issues appropriatelyClearly explaining financial concepts and analysis to stakeholdersTranslating business objectives into actionable analysesLeading medium to large projects end-to-end, including establishing timelines, priorities, resource allocation, and keeping stakeholders informed of status and obstacles About the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSExperience in tax, finance or a related analytical fieldExperience in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.)
and data visualization tools such as TableauExperience in business or financial analysisExperience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insightsExperience with SQLExperience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExcellent communication skills; detail-oriented3+ years experience in data analytics, business intelligence, tax, or financeBachelor's degree
