JOIN THE TEAM
Within the Group Data Office as part of BASF's Data & AI Powerhouse, we drive BASF's overall Data Management and contribute to the convenient, efficient, and compliant data usage within BASF. We deliver services all around Data Product creation, Data Strategy, Data Governance and Projects. Providing data as Data Products and organizing data in Domains enables colleagues across the organization to create value from data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for developing and implementing AI governance processes and tools ensuring efficiency, consistency and scalability of Data & AI Governance practices, e.g. through automation with the help of AI.
You collaborate with cross-functional teams like Data Domain Owners, Data & AI Governance units, Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Legal to ensure policies and best practices are reflected by the governance processes and tools.
You monitor and assess data & AI governance practices to identify areas for improvement and automation areas e.g., with the help of AI.
At the same time, you stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data & AI governance automation.
You design and implement automated data quality checks, metadata management, and data access controls.
You provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data & AI governance tools and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in computer science, information systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong understanding of data & AI governance frameworks, principles, and best practices as well as corresponding regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO42001).
Proficiency in governance automation tools and technologies.
Solid knowledge of data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data access control concepts.
Proven experience in process engineering and automation (e.g. via RPA), ideally for data governance, data management, or a related field.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic environment.
