Role PurposeWe are looking for an experienced Senior Energy Markets Expert to join our Sustainable Energy Systems (SES) team. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a profound impact, driving the transition towards a cleaner and greener world. Your role will be to provide invaluable guidance and strategic advice to existing and new clients in navigating the complex world of energy markets, renewable energy, and hydrogen. You will be a trusted advisor, supporting regulators, developers, investors, and energy users in making informed decisions that align with their sustainability goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for delivering work to the highest standards, whether acting as a technical expert.As a senior member of the energy planning & regulation team, you will play a key role in managing or overseeing projects that not only meet client expectations but also contribute to the overall growth of the company.You will be prepared to travel to project sites within Europe and globally when required, ensuring a hands-on approach and a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.You will be proactive in developing the technical and commercial skills of more junior members of our team.Using your track record in energy strategy to focus on expanding our public and private sector portfolios, with an emphasis on Southern Europe. This includes ensuring client satisfaction, participating in strategic decision-making, and overseeing business development activities.Confidence in interacting with clients and senior management is crucial, as is producing clear and easy-to-read reports.Key Competencies and ExperienceSignificant experience working at a leading consultancy, energy utility, financial institution, or similar.University and master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, energy economics, applied mathematics, or similar.Demonstrated working knowledge of power markets, energy policy framework, and technical regulations preferably in the EU.Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, with an aptitude for complex quantitative analysis, statistics, and use of large data sets.Understanding and experience with energy system modelling and use of least-cost planning and least-cost dispatch tools is desirable.Experience and expertise with financial and/or economic analysis of renewable power and/or hydrogen projects.
