The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.Key Accountabilities (Grade G Machinist):Operate machine shop equipment, CNC Lathe, Grinder, and manual at a high level of precision, to produce the quality and quantity of machining in accordance with Engineering and Lab needs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.Create, write, or modify machining programs as needed for CNC equipment using Mastercam programming software.Utilize Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel) to communicate, report, and track information and workflow.Query models in Pro-E or Mastercam to gather needed information concerning part geometry.Ability to proficiently program multi-axis CNC mills and lathes.Advanced Level CNC programming through Mastercam.Evaluate designs of parts for ease of machining in a production environment.Assist in providing training for employees as required.Design special tooling and fixturing as necessary to produce prototype parts.Read, interpret, and evaluate mechanical drawings to determine necessary machining requirements.Inspect machined and procured parts as necessary.Utilize precision measuring equipment as required.Assist in maintaining an effective and efficient work area.Demonstrate an understanding of engineering requirements of turbochargers and their components.Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies.Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Qualifications (Grade G Machinist):Must have strong technical math skills, especially trigonometry and descriptive geometry.Must have strong Mastercam programming skills.This position requires experience and knowledge in general machining and the set-up and operation of CNC and manual equipment.Experience and knowledge in G-code, CAD, CAM is required; Pro-E and Mastercam.A strong background in Mechanical Drafting and ability to read and interpret blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) are required.Safety: This position will adhere to the BorgWarner Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.EEO: BorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
