Additionally, the Engineer provides support with hardware purchases and deployment in different environments.
The role requires network knowledge and the ability to work with Network, System Administration departments to coordinate tasks and projects.Your every day:Maintain and support a large Virtualized environment that hosts 2000+ VMs running VMware vSphere / vSAN 7.0+.Deploy and manage VMware vSphere clusters in Production, Corporate, and Test environments.Deploy and manage HPE server hardware, including maintenance and troubleshooting.Manage Ceph storage clusters; perform maintenance and troubleshoot Ceph-related issues.Capacity planning for the Compute and Storage infrastructure, able to define technical bills of materials.Assist in designing, testing, implementation, and documentation of new infrastructure stacks.Deploy and manage NetApp shared storage devices, including maintenance and incident resolution.Conduct preventive maintenance on infrastructure to ensure efficient operations.Maintain and support a backup infrastructure based on Veeam BR; 11+.
Manage backup infrastructure such as proxies, repositories, jobs, following best practices.Management of Cloud Infrastructure and Infrastructure as a Service solutions.Interact with third party vendors contractors, such as data center support and remote hands engineers.
Work with stakeholders, project managers, and other teams to ensure system designs meet business requirements.Participate on shared team on-call rotation.It could be a perfect match if you have:Excellent English and Spanish verbal and written communication skills.5+ years of overall IT experience with enterprise-level virtualized environments, designing, implementing and maintaining a VMware vSphere ecosystem.Server hardware knowledge and experience, firmware, iLO/BMC, BIOS, PXE, RAID.Experience in data center operations such as remote access, inventory management, rack layouts, structured cabling, hot/cold aisles, security and power.Working knowledge of networking, including routing, switching and firewalls, subnets, addressing schemes, access rules, VLANs.Ability to create and/or update processes, documentation and complex diagrams.Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Ceph clusters.Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.Working knowledge of OpenStack environments.Excellent troubleshooting skills, being able to navigate complex network and service topologies to track down issues.Experience working in an ITIL-based organization.It would be a plus:Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes is a plus.VCP-DV Certificate is a plus.Experience with Automation and Infra-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible is a plus.Canonical/Ubuntu experience is a plus.What do we offer?Diverse and international teamFantastic opportunity for self-development, progress, and learning new technologiesUSD paymentTrainingFlexible working hours100% remote position #J-18808-Ljbffr
