Position#: 241108 Position: Cyber Security Advisor (Contract, Hybrid, Toronto) Position Type: Contract (6-18 months) Location: GTA, ON Description We are looking for a senior security consultant with an extensive security background to evaluate existing security framework and structure, make recommendations, and enhance quality in designing and implementing security architecture and risk assessment mainly but not limited to application development and support groups for large enterprise organizations. You'll work with application and cyber security operation teams to ensure projects meet cyber security standards and enhance security technologies. Responsibilities Identify and offer new security solutions to enhance existing technologies to mitigate risks and improve security posture. Support planning and designing enterprise security architecture while collaborating with system owners and cyber operation teams to allocate security controls effectively. Implement security control practices, proposing security solution blueprints and roadmaps. Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments, and recommend controls based on industry frameworks and organizational guidelines. Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders, ensuring projects adhere to cybersecurity and architectural standards through governance forums. Support incident response by defining, documenting, and testing playbooks, while managing fixes, patches, and configuration updates. Monitor and research emerging threats and attack vectors to maintain and improve the organization's cybersecurity maturity and compliance. Qualifications 10+ years of experience implementing security solutions for mid-sized to large systems. Minimum 5 years of experience in cyber security consulting. Minimum 5 years of previous hands-on experience in application security. Proven track record of analyzing and evaluating security frameworks and architecture and proposing restructuring and optimization strategies. Proven ability to create and align strategic cyber security direction with tactical activities, effectively communicating plans across the organization. Experience with frameworks and standards, such as NIST, Duck Creek, and ISO. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Hands-on experience in application security, network security, application development, Operating Systems, and encryption standards. Experience with a cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) as well as CRM implementation projects. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence technologies, like MS Copilot and Open AI.
