Come join the team and help us make history!We are searching for a talented Principal, Product Management to enable the success of the EU GFP program within the high-growth, fast-paced Amazon Logistics organization.Key Job ResponsibilitiesThe role will be responsible for leading all Product-related initiatives to introduce new processes for long, medium, and short-term planning, including the related vehicle procurement and supply chain downstream decisions (OEM, upfitting, scheduling, transportation), impacting hundreds of millions in CAPEX/OPEX.
By doing this, they will be ultimately responsible for building the right capacity to deliver peak demand whilst ensuring target fleet utilization is achieved and cost optimized.The successful candidate will drive product design, development, and testing for the EU AMZL fleet in partnership with AMZL tech teams (OR, BIE, DS/RS) by leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning pipelines, deterministic python-based algorithms, and the integration with key partner organizations (Finance, Network Planning, DSP Planning, Product Development, Electrification, Modes Of Transport, Sustainability, Legal).She/he will be required to monitor and identify important changes in upstream forecasts assumptions and business strategies, with a view to streamline the overall planning and decision cycle and to achieve the optimal trade-off between cost and Service Partners experience.The role will own the re-engineering of both the current automated forecasting model, Fleet Requirement Planning (FRP), and short-term planning model (Deployment Scheduling) to:Integrate new Amazon organization van requirements (e.g., SWA/DSP Lite);Move from a deterministic to probability-based modeling and introduce optimization models with the objective function being the operational costs;Evolve the UI of FRP from Excel-based to a more friendly dashboard;Integrate new supply channels and netting logics within the model (e.g., van sharing, off-season vans, vehicle multi-use, etc.)
to drive the related sourcing accordingly;Integrate seamless both upstream (LTP) and downstream (approvals) processes;Support effectively critical business decisions (Capex/Opex, rental/lease/cross country transfer, vehicle type mix, asset utilization, etc.)
based on risk assessment and long-term constraints visibility.For this purpose, she/he will develop a "digital twin" of the planning models to perform "what if analysis", multiple planning scenarios, and investment analysis to define "alternative" demand and supply plans, in collaboration with Finance and other Stakeholder teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable Fleet planning modeling;Integrate closely with finance business partners to ensure plans are efficient and meet Peak demand, to ensure efficient ordering process;Define and own Fleet Demand forecasting accuracy metric;Be accountable for the timely "buy-in" from VP/Senior Stakeholder about the significant Fleet CAPEX investment and OPEX decisions;Consolidate input from different stakeholders and ensure fleet plans always consume the latest available assumptions;Drive the transition to electrification (EV planning Business As Usual) and integration of MoT into Fleet Requirement Planning;Extend FRP process to new business customer organization (SWA, DSP Lite) and countries to be launched over the next years.About the TeamThe EU AMZL Fleet Planning, Analytics (FPA) operates within Global Fleet Products (GFP), and is responsible for the EU AMZL fleet requirement definition to source Armada/Rentals, short-term deployment scheduling, business intelligence, and analytics support, with the North Star to scale fleet capacity efficiently.
By Peak 2023, EU AMZL will achieve a fleet size of 46K vans (Armada 70%, Rental 30%), +13% YoY, (2021-23) CAGR +24%, with a Supply Over Demand of 1.1K/3%, -7.7K/-2,750bps YoY and a FY utilization growth target of +400bps YoY.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree;Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition;Experience with feature delivery and trade-offs of a product;Experience in technical product management;Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product;Experience with end-to-end product delivery.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements;Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
