.As a member of the Digital Workplace Technology team, you will plan, design, deploy, and maintain solutions for our Linux (Ubuntu) client devices across TomTom with focus on self-service and automation keeping our client fleet secure and up-to-date. The location for this position is either in Spain (Madrid) or Poland (Lodz). We are Digital Workplace. On our team, you'll help design, develop, deliver, operate,and support solutions through a defined set of services, so that together at TomTom we can better create location technologies for a safer, cleaner, congestion-free world.What you'll do Manage and maintain Linux (Ubuntu) lifecycles, automated distributions, and self-service for our Linux (Ubuntu) users worldwide together with our lead system engineer for Linux (Ubuntu) .Assist with identifying and resolving vulnerabilities on managed Linux (Ubuntu) devices.Deliver the best Ubuntu user experience and Linux device security for our TomTom employees using Landscape, in-house developed tooling, and scripting.Maintain hardware standards and peripherals for our Ubuntu engineers.Work in a small global Technology team that focuses on the technologies used in the Digital Workplace to engineer and deliver solutions for our global user community, working closely with the Product Manager and our key stakeholders.Handle 3rd line support related service requests and incidents for the supported technologies and infrastructure.What you'll need Bachelor's degree in related technical studies, or equivalent through work experience.5+ years of professional experience and expertise in an IT engineering role focused on Linux client engineering.Strong development skills including Terraform/Ansible, system programming (C, Python).Relevant experience with managing large device fleets using MDM platforms and other tooling.Good Unix experience and willingness to eventually learn/get familiar with MacOS.Strong analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex or escalated support issues.Excellent (English) communication skills and cross-cultural adaptability.Creative ideas, suggestions, and a new way of doing something.Learning and adapting to new technologies.Has basic knowledge of other related disciplines, organizations & processes.Resolve more complex problems; can take a new perspective on existing solutions/procedures.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.May lead small projects or project steps within a broader project.Works independently with minimal guidance.Contributes to process improvements.Typically resolves problems using existing solutions.Occasionally leads the work of small project teams
