Here at Labster, we are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The primary responsibility of the Cost Accountant will be Accounts Payable and employee reimbursements. The ideal candidate will have experience in Account Payables and Accounting (intangible assets and capitalized R&D), a solid understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication abilities. This position will report to the Finance Director and is an excellent opportunity to help lead an organization through a transformative time in the business. If gaining experience at a venture-capital-backed company whose mission is to empower the next generation of scientists excites you, read on!This person must be based in Spain to be considered for this role.ResponsibilitiesProcess vendor invoicing and monitor/book accrualsProcess and book vendor paymentsMaintain and update vendor master dataLead vendor communication and alignmentProcess employee reimbursements and company credit cardsMonitor, book and reconcile asset register (development projects and fixed assets)Take part of streamlining and optimizing our processes between R&D and financePerform month end reconciliations and analysisHelp with the annual audit processMonitor VAT and sales/use tax compliance in everyday operationsContinuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracyCompetencies & SkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics or similar.2+ years of experience in Accounts PayableCritical Thinking and highly motivatedNetSuite, Excel, and Google SheetsA plus if you have experience with working in multinational companies (various regulatory frameworks and foreign currencies)Exceptional analytical skills coupled with a solid understanding of business dynamicsStrong communications skills and ability to work cross-functionally and with the senior leadership teamVerbal and written fluency in EnglishProven track record of delivering on commitments, and working closely & effectively with peers and leaders outside of the Finance teamWhy LabsterWe are Labster.
