The Corporate Financial Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end management and reporting of the financial and accounting activities of the Company and any other designated corporate entities. This will include being responsible for the month-end close, management reporting, statutory audit and strategic business plan.
Key Role ResponsibilitiesAccounting related:Verify, assign and post all daily transactions, including AR/AP, general ledger, employees expense notes, payroll and any subsequent recharges to the relevant properties, fixed assets and bank reconciliations.Handle month end and year end closings, accounting all accruals and executing all related processes.Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and Corporation tax returns with the guidance of external advisor.Execute payments of corporate service providers and suppliers.Invoicing of fees and recharge of recoverable expenses to properties ensuring collection (follow up) on a timely basis.Enhance current finance processes and controls in place.Ensure good record keeping of the corporate books and financials.Setting up new vendors (suppliers) in Yardi system.Ad hoc duties as directed by Finance Director.Reporting/Analytical related:Ownership and accountability of the Greystar Spain corporate books and financials including month and year end reporting packs preparation with variance analysis against budget.Preparation of the strategic business plan, budget setting and reforecasting process. Forecasting payroll, fees (with inputs and help from portfolio and investment teams), opex and below ebitda items.Preparation of statutory audited financial statements.Preparation of quarter and monthly group reports (Continental report, CDP, Non-Financials, Tax requirements, Interco reports, etc).Key person in implementation of new systems in Spain.Ad hoc reports and information.Meeting group deadlines.Your ProfileProficiency in accounting with proven background and at least 5 years of post-qualified experience.Excellent understanding of budgets, reforecasts and financial statements.Sound knowledge of VAT/CIT and Company Structures/SPVs.Sound knowledge of local Spanish GAAP (PGC), IFRS and Audit.Proficiency in MS Office tools (mainly but not only Excel). Needs to be an advanced Excel user as it will be one of the main tools.Ability to learn fast and work with systems.Essential:Experience of working in a similar role within a fast-paced multi-site environment.Strong team working and interpersonal skills.Ability to manipulate and sort large volumes of data in Excel.Good communicator with the ability to interpret and explain complex financial data to non-technical audiences.Good attention to detail, methodical and takes pride in work.Positive "can do" attitude with desire to learn, train and develop in the role.Self-starter with an organised and proactive approach.Attention to detail, methodical and takes pride in work.
