Your contribution
You will oversee the evaluation and enhancement of our purchasing processes, ensuring they are cost-effective and fostering strong supplier relationships. This position demands a thorough understanding of procurement practices, market trends, and data analysis. Your workplace will be located in the Greater Madrid Metropolitan Area, Spain.
Responsibilities: What you will doSupport and analyze the purchase of direct materials (Core collection) for the MEMESA recycling center, ensuring compliance with EU laws and OECD regulations.Identify opportunities in the local markets (ES/FR/PT) based on historical relationships and new prospects. Develop knowledge of each national market, including key players and influences, and monitor and communicate price trends and spot market activities internally.Create SAP orders for buyers, maintain control over the entire procurement process, and ensure proper internal controls.Manage orders and control quantities shipped (comparing scrap dealers' data with plant demand logistics, acid control, bins/bulk operations, and mavericks' strategy) to support the local procurement team.Support MEMESA plant planning in line with the local purchasing strategy.Develop and manage transport strategies (cost and supplier selection) and negotiate Core collection transport.Assist the local procurement team with E-Procurement systems (SAP, Konzmann, Zycus, and other tools).Act as a backup for the local team, negotiating prices and contracts in a spot market environment.Manage supplier accounts, including database management, legal compliance, and invoicing.Assist local LBU business with legal compliance and support regulations and transboundary movement of recoverable waste.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: What we look forRequired qualificationsBachelor's degree in business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field.Working experience in industrial procurement or logistics department – ideally automotive sector.Strong knowledge of MS Office and experience with SAP is desired.Experience with dangerous goods/ Knowledge of local laws- ESP/PT/FR.Fluent in Spanish (level of native speaker) and in English (B2/C1).Other languages skills will be a plus (French/Portuguese).Preferred qualifications/skillsAbility to work well under pressure.Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Excellent written and oral skills.Ability to work in a team environment with international stakeholders.High attention to detail and accuracy.Willingness to learn and improve.Benefits: What we offer youModern Office in Madrid: Enjoy working in a stylish office located in downtown Madrid (Paseo de la Habana).Flexible Work-Life Balance: Design your workday to suit your personal and professional needs with our flexible, trust-based working hours and comprehensive mobile work policy.Challenging and Rewarding Work: Engage in exciting professional tasks within a diverse international environment committed to integrity, values, social engagement, and sustainability.Competitive Compensation: Benefit from an industry-leading salary that supports both your professional and personal growth.
