Controlling, Tax and Accounting European Director

The Controlling, Tax and Accounting Director will be located in the European headquarters, Madrid, with a direct report to the European CIO, also located in Madrid.
This role is crucial for ensuring the proper functioning of the organization and leading its continuous evolution. We're looking for an exceptional individual with extensive experience. You'll need to show excellent critical thinking skills, including the ability to quickly assimilate new information, identify patterns, make sound decisions, and develop creative solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all controlling, tax, and accounting activities within a Finance matrix organization.Ensure the quality and timeliness of IFRS reports and statutory audits.Manage the relationship with the audit firm at the Corporate level and across Europe.Conduct detailed balance sheet reviews and support M&A projects.Enhance organizational efficiency and develop the team to achieve better financial results.Manage the European Insurance Program.Ensure proper tax filing procedures across Europe and monitor and assist in tax audits.Coordinate transfer pricing preparation with local applicable rules and maintain the European Master File.Ensure adequate corporate structure across the region and optimize the European structure.Job RequirementsBackground
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in Big Four audit, and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
MBA master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA/ACCA or ACA) will be valuable.
Required Skills
Language requirements: full professional proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory; knowledge of any other European language is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to a variety of audiences across business functions and levels, tailoring messages appropriately.
Ability to take initiatives, with the desire and flexibility to take ownership and drive key topics.
